The LONG ISLAND HIGH TECHNOLOGY INCUBATOR (LIHTI) is a NON-PROFIT organization dedicated to helping new, innovative companies grow.
Long Island High Technology Incubator (LIHTI) operates under the guidance of the Office of Economic Development and serves as a vital hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. Established in 1992, LIHTI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization jointly supported by The Research Foundation of the State University of New York and the Stony Brook Foundation, Inc. Oversight is provided by a dedicated Board of Directors.
Over the years, LIHTI has fostered the growth of numerous biotechnology and technology-driven startups, many of which have successfully graduated from the incubator and gone on to create hundreds of high-quality jobs. Our strategic affiliation with Stony Brook University positions LIHTI at the forefront of research and development, enabling seamless technology transfer from academia to industry. This collaboration has been a cornerstone of our success, driving innovation and economic impact across the region.

Our Mission
LIHTI is a non-profit organization that supports and stabilizes early-stage, high-risk, high-tech businesses. We are dedicated to helping new technologically-innovative companies in the Biotech, Cleantech, or Infotech industry grow by providing them with a variety of support resources and services. In addition to its beautiful setting, LIHTI’s location on the Stony Brook University campus enables the transfer of ideas from the University to the private sector. The companies that develop and grow as a result of being a part of the Incubator create jobs and expand the tax base on Long Island and in New York State.
